Active ingredients: Fusidic Acid 2 and betamethasone valerate are the active ingredients present in Fucicort Topical Cream. Fucicort Topical Cream is from the class of potent (group III) corticosteroids and works by preventing the production  of bacterial protein ( which helps in the growth of bacterial infection).

Fucicort Topical Cream is an over the counter medication commonly used for various skin infections generally bacterial skin infections. It is a very good cream for dermatological skin disorders such as skin rashes, redness, skin inflammation and skin conditions with bacterial infections.

Procedure of use

Using Fucicort Topical Cream is pretty easy. Just clean the infected are with lukewarm water and clean it dry. Now apply a fat layer of the ointment unto the infected area and gently rub it. Do not rub is hard as it can open up the infection and cause further complications. Apply it twice a day for at least a week to see visible results.

At initial stage the use of Fucicort Topical Cream can cause gentle irrigation or itchiness which is just about normal and with continuous use for 2-3 days it disappears.

Possible side effects
Though Fucicort Topical Cream is an easily available over the counter medications some patients may as well suffer from various side effects. In case anyone suffers from allergic reaction such as skin irritation, redness, itchiness, etc, stop using the ointment immediately and consult a doctor.

Avoid prolonged use, if symptoms don’t improve even after a week or so, stop using it and seek for professional medical help. Prolonged use may cause skin pigmentation and other skin problems.


Don’t use Fucicort Topical Cream around your eyes or other sensitive part of the body. If in contact with your eyes, flush with cold water immediately.
